Sitting by the pool

This is how they do it here. If there is a heat warning people flock to the nearest cooling station. In our case the nearest station is the pool.

It’s a sweltering 104 degree F out here. A little hazy and a 2 miles per hour wind helps in the cooling process. Under the shade its about 100 degrees. In the Philippines, the highest temperature for the day is 78 degrees – that’s the setting of our aircon in the house! Back then, in the Philippines, I only saw these temperatures in thermometers. When somebody was suffering from a high fever – 38.8 degrees C.

There are seven people in the pool right now, including Thea and Gail. Three adults and four kids. I decided not to go in the water because I get to do the life guarding for Thea and Gail. While I do that I type away on my Asus Eee PC.

BTW, the radio reported one death related to heat stroke in the locality. His core temperature shot up to 108 degrees F.
