One of our favorite places in Bakersfield, California is Hart Park. It offers a lot of activities. It depends, really, on what you like to do for the day - from the docile to the extreme. The last time we were there a speed boat competition was taking place but they had a $12 entrance fee but if you have enough energy to scale a hill you can get a great view of the lake. There’s another lake, within the vicinity, that’s a great fishing spot! A few dozen fishermen were casting their rods and were getting a couple of fish to bite. Poor fish.
So, we decided to feed the wildlife. Yes, we know we shouldn’t have. We did anyway - blame the rebel within. We choose the most extreme sport - feeding wild fowl! Behold! The dangerous PEAFOWL!
Seriously, these animals are adorable and very colorful. They will eat out of your hand, that’s how tame they are.
The internet is a wonderful tool in reconnecting people. A few months ago I re-kindled my friendship with a long lost friend - IAN ALEJANDRO. He was one of my third grade buddies. We hang out a lot and did karate classes in his garage with another buddy - JOE FRAZIER. This was in Angeles City, Pampanga in the late 1970’s. We went to Angeles University Foundation. Ian sent this class photo. You can tell how old the photo is…ah! Memories…

Aren’t the police suppose to do this to curb criminality - conduct on-going operations to arrest all wanted persons? Does this mean the criminals are allowed to roam free to engage in their nefarious activities and when people start complaining that’s the only time the police goes out and arrest them?
LAGAWE, Ifugao - In an effort to curb criminality, the Provincial Police Office (PPO) launched its operations to arrest all wanted persons resulting to the capture of the Top Most Wanted Person in the province. Read the article
Thanks to Arnold Yen who sent a link to this YouTube video about a special basketball player.
He started as a water and towel boy but enjoyed it, nonetheless. At the last game of the season and with four minutes left in the fourth quarter, their coach (Jim Johnson) surprised many by letting this water boy play. Of course, he missed his first two shots but the third time went in scoring from the 3-point area and so was the following six other baskets - all from the rainbow area! At the end of the game he scored 20 points, the highest in that game. Oh, and by the way the player, Jason McElwain, is autistic. Here’s his story or history:
After that he moved on to become the team manager and into the spot light rubbing elbows with Pres. George Bush, Oprah and Magic Johnson. His story continues to inspire people around the world.
In 2006, FilAm Glendale High School student Elaine Panlaqui attended the G8 Summit in St. Petersburg, Russia with two other schoolmates, Viannca Montesino and Kelly Velasquez. During the summit, they collaborated with other youth representatives from all over the world and authored a document that was presented to the leaders of the G8. More…
For a time I did buy term life insurances. It was a short term protection we decided to take because of the uncertainties of life. But these types of life insurances are viewed by many as a waste of money, to some extent. According to Advantage Quotes Life Insurance:
The objections that consumers have had with term life insurance is that they pay all this money into the policy and at the end of the term they get nothing.
I took out a one-year term life insurance and paid the premium then nothing happened. Not that I was praying for something to happen to me. Well, at least I was “covered” for a year. A small price to pay for security.
By definition Term Life Insurance is a plan that provides death benefit protection only and for a specified period of time, hence, the word term. The policy pays benefits only if the insured dies during the term. For a time that was the way how these insurances worked.
What if you took out a term life insurance with a return of premium option? Sounds interesting, right? How does this grab you?
Return of Premium life insurance gives you the coverage you need when you need it most but at the end of the policy period you receive all of your premiums back.
