Did you know that it ‘ s Beautiful Women Month ?

Facts On Figures :
There are 3 billion women who don’t look like super models and only eight who do.

Did you know Marilyn Monroe wore a size 14? (She also did not have good hygiene?) Can you believe that?

If Barbie was a real woman, she ‘ d have to walk on all FOURS due to her proportions!

The average woman weighs 144 pounds, and wears between a size 12-14.

One out of every 4 college-aged women has an eating disorder.

The Models in the magazines are AIRBRUSHED!! ! - NOT Perfect!!

A psychological study in 1995 found that 3 minutes spent looking at a Fashion Magazine caused 70% of women to feel depressed , guilty and SHAMEFUL!

Models 20 years ago weighed 8% Less than the average Woman. Today they weigh 23% less……

The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, The figure she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen from her eyes, Because that is the doorway to her heart, The place where love resides. The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole, But true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, The passion that she shows. The beauty of a woman With time, only grows..

An English professor wrote the words: “WOMAN WITHOUT HER MAN IS NOTHING” on the blackboard, and directed the students to punctuate it correctly .
The men wrote: “Woman, WITHOUT HER MAN, is nothing.”
The women wrote: “WOMAN!! WITHOUT HER, man is nothing!”

The Images of Mother
4 YEARS OF AGE My Mommy can do anything!
8 YEARS OF AGE My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot!
12 YEARS OF AGE My Mother doesn ‘ t really know quite everything.
14 YEARS OF AGE Naturally, Mother doesn ‘ t know that, either!
16 YEARS OF AGE Mother? She ‘ s hopelessly old-fashioned.
18 YEARS OF AGE That old woman? She ‘ s way out of date!
25 YEARS OF AGE Well, she might know a little bit about it.
35 YEARS OF AGE Before we decide, let ‘ s get Mom ‘ s opinion.
45 YEARS OF AGE Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?
65 YEARS OF AGE Wish I could talk it over with Mom. . .

Ayon sa Men’s Health Magazine, “doing more housework will get you more sex“. Ito rin ay pinapatunayan ng report na mula sa Associated Press.

Simulan na ang paglilinis ng makarami!

This year, Alison Pablo will be going to the Philippines to visit an elementary school library that she helped establish. With the help of Books for the Barrios she was able to fill a public elementary school library with updated books donated by Americans and other good samaritans in Union City, CA. Her efforts benefited 800 pupils in Bulacan. She’s only six years old.

When I was with the Department of Social Welfare and Development - CAR (DSWD-CAR) I was able to travel to remote barrios in the Cordilleras. I saw, first hand, how hard life was and the toll it has taken on its community members.

A barrio in Kalinga that I visited was in the same dire condition. I remember the faces of two pupils slowly turning the page on an outdated textbook ever careful not to tear the already brittle pages. I saw their eagerness to learn but because they live in a remote community education is hard to come by.

An organization here in the US is helping out poor barrios back home. An organization that was established 20 years ago and has helped more than 18,000 children with the 9 million books and materials. It also provided echo trainings to Philippine public school teachers. Learn more about Books for the Barrios here.

Unfortunately, the program is in dire straights and is in need. Here’s a report:

So, you want to move ?

We just moved to Bakersfield, California eleven months ago and within that time frame we moved to three apartments. Just trying to find the best fit for us. Unfortunately we were at a loss how to go about with the process. It would have been great if we had relocation real estate agents to help us out in the transition.

The neighborhood where our first apartment was at was just bad. People who knew we lived there urged us to move ASAP. But it wasn’t that easy. We were staying at a single bedroom unit and we were next door to some loud tenants. The inconvenience of being jolted out of your well deserved beauty rest was just too much we had to move to another unit. So, we moved to a new unit within the complex and found the place to be quiet enough and seem to be a nice place to settle down for a while. Then a few days into August, shots rang out in the middle of the night while we were watching TV. It was scary! There was a firefight outside and the thought of bullets passing through our walls was enough for us to look for another place.

The following day, I went online to look for somebody who can help us look for a nice home or an apartment to rent. I wanted to shop around for the best deal and find the best price (say : cheap) but didn’t have the information - like mover’s quotes. We also drove around town looking for the best possible places. It was a waste of time, money and effort. Wouldn’t it be more convenient and economical of there was site you can visit and get the information you need?

Well, I think you can get them here - from rentals, agents, mortgage rates, foreclosure rates to insurances - they got it covered and more. Well, we moved alright last September to a better community and so far we are loving it!

Information is key in real estate - and the information starts here.

“What’s up with these guys? They get paid just by being a statue. People line up to have photos with him and they leave with generous tips. It’s insane- painted all white and dressed like a sack of flour!”

But that’s work!

Pinakurat
Back in the Philippines, we were crazy about this sensational dip! My wife first encountered the sauce and introduced it to me in one of our meals. We were hooked immediately and had to have a bottle ready for any meal, any time of the day! Unfortunately, we can only buy pinakurat in a certain mall. So, we had to order it from my sister who works in Manila. She would bring that to Baguio during her weekend trips home. When I have trips to Manila, I make it a point to bring home a few bottles.
It’s true, it’s a favorite! Unfortunately, it’s not available where we are. If only they can import them to California, we wouldn’t be homesick.

Thanks Cyberbaguioboy for this article.

I belong to a generation that knew 9 planets - Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.A few years ago scientists named two more planets in the Solar System - Ceres and Eris. As it was I had a hard time memorizing them and dreaded the thought of mixing up the planetary system when the teacher announced a pop quiz.

Recently, a smart 11-year old student came out with a novel way to memorize via Mnemonic, the new Solar System. But before we go the winner, let’s look at what her classmates came out with :

  • My Very Extraordinary Mother Carrie Just Served Us Nine Pizzas Each.
  • My Very Extraordinary Mother Can Jog Superly Under Nasty Particular Elves.

And the winner is:

My Very Exciting Magic Carpet Just Sailed Under Nine Palace Elephants.

The new solar system

I was just wondering, what happens now to the soothsayers who depend on planetary placements to tell the future? Does this screw up their forecasts and predictions? Perhaps they found an excuse - “So that’s why my predictions were way off, we were missing two planets!”

The ONE Campaign!I’ve just signed the ONE Declaration committing myself to help fight the emergency of global AIDS and extreme poverty.

I’m asking you to make that commitment, too, by adding your voice.

I think your name belongs on that declaration, too. You can put it there by visiting:

http://www.one.org/declare/

ONE is a new effort by Americans to rally Americans - one by one. So far, over two million have signed the declaration in support of a historic pact for compassion and justice to help the poorest people of the world.

Together as ONE we can make a difference!

Thanks!
