Did you cringe in shame or well up with pride when you saw Renald Lapuz deliver his now famous We’re Brothers Forever?

Before facing the panel of the show Renald was asked why he auditioned for American Idol. He said that if he became an American idol he will be seen by the desperate as hope and the weak as strength. And he would welcome the occasional worshiper who bows to him.

And so he did his thing. You’ve got to see the clip.

Then Simon made a prediction - “I have a horrible feeling that its going to be a hit record”

And now it’s a hit around the world.

But you have to give Renald credit for having such a positive attitude. Many good things will happen to this tricycle driver from the Philippines.

I took this during our last visit to Las Vegas to usher in the new year. Being in the “Sin City” it seems odd that a nightclub should offer a religious experience to its patrons.

So, I looked at the definitions of TAO, RELIGION and NIGHTCLUB

TAO - Tao is simply the way and order of the Universe.

RELIGION - A religion is a set of common beliefs and practices generally held by a group of people, often codified as prayer, ritual, and religious law.

NIGHTCLUB - A nightclub (or “night club” or “club”) is a drinking, dancing, and entertainment venue which does its primary business after dark. (kaya nga night).

Stranger still, for me, is that the concept of worship has now taken on a new twist. Here’s how I read the sign:

That partying in nightclubs is now a common practice since its in man’s nature to eat, drink and be merry -it’s just the natural thing to do.

I wonder what schools of though on Hedonism are they practicing. Is it the qualitative or the quantitative approach (Bentam vs. Mill)?

All that Las Vegas excitement was all too much! After exploring the New Year’s Eve activities of Las Vegas along Fremont Street I had to rest my weary body.Just read what the www.vegasexperience.com has to say about Fremont Street:

Now, these may have exacerbated the headache:
* 12 million lights from the Viva Vision Canopy

* Towering LED displays
* Hundreds of people walking around

Let me tell you, that alone is enough to give me a headache. BTW, that’s my daughter turned massage therapist and she did a great job, too!
