What gangs are in Baguio?
Posted by digitalchain under People, Ramblings, Videos | Tags: baguio city, crime, fraternities, gangs |In my previous post I mentioned that there was a program initiated by the Baguio City Police Office to control the escalating gang and fraternity wars.
I think the program was able to unify the different groups in the city which paved the way for the forging of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and the formation of the United Fraternities Organization (UFO). Read the whole report written by Ernie Olson for SunStar Baguio here.
I remember Atty. Mark Baliton was one of the proponents of the MOU and I did get to talk to him a few times about the UFO. There were a couple of times I saw him overseeing a ‘graffiti clean-up’ drive near the post office with various members of gangs and fraternities.
Fraternities and gangs are now viewed as one and the same. There used to be a distinction but that has been blurred. I did a search of what gangs and fraternities are currently ‘operating’ in Baguio. Here is the list (as of July 30, 2007):
- Samahang Ilocano
- Genuine Ilocano
- United Ilocandia
- Akrho
- Phi Lambda Epsilon
- Alpha Phi Omega
- Beta Sigma
- Crips
- Bloods
- Notorious Underground Crips
- Sacremento Tag Crips
- North Side Terrorists
- Rappers Delta Foundation
- Real Pinoy Crips
- West Side Terrorists
- Pinoy True Crips
- Sudden Death Gangsters
- Mafia Crips
- God Mob Carnalis
- East Side Thugs
- Ragstah
- Peer Group Trouble
- Souls
- Trece Hudas
- Selda Trece
- Tropang Muslim
- True Brown Style
Surprisingly absent from the list are the Bahala na Gang, Sigue Sigue Sputnik and Batang City Jail.
I also found these videos about the gangs in Baguio. The have Friendster, too.
1. Ragsta
2. North Side Terrorists
3. TBS Crips
The videos contain some disturbing images. If you recognize some the the face of these children tell their parents or somebody before it’s too late.

Dami naman palang gang sa Baguio. Never thought that they are that many. Most of the names sound ridiculous hehe.

Bill,
They do sound crazy. Most members are, too.

Ok, those are very imaginative names…. NOT!
Nice blog you got here. If I could just make a small suggestion, I think it would be better if you remove the Snap Preview application. It gets really annoying. hehe

Gangstasmy***,
Unfortunately I do know about these kids. I have worked with troubled kids and are friends to many of the members of these gangs. I have talked to their families as well. I have a life, thank you.

let me say..
i’m affiliated to CIASI fraternity which is the most populated fraternity in baguio. & the stongest .. we don’t start troubles.. some gangs or fraternity are only thinking sumpremecy but we CIASI,UI,GI,Akrho & Phi Lambda (d’magic5) have goals to each n everyone of our bro./sis. such as:
>to promote excellence
>undertake projects to enhance the abilities and potential of each member
>promote discipline, unity & cooperation
>and other more
what i’m trying to say is all the violence in baguio are mostly on other gangs.. if you look closely..
we are not trouble kids..they are!!
we help our brother and sister in everyway we can!!
do you know y we are supreme than most of the gangs?
it’s not just we’re poplulated and strong
coz after this(in d future)..
we became professionals!!
to lead our people to its higher potentials! and to be the role model of our nation & children!
what we stand for..

CIASI,
Kabsat, I know that not all fraternities are trouble makers. In fact, I respect and admire one of your members - he’s an upstanding citizen and an excellent civic leader. He has also been active in promoting unity among groups in Baguio. I stand behind you in your values. I do hope that your members can live by your tenets. But to “accept trouble” instead of avoiding it seem suspect. But I do acknowledge that the top tier fraternities have matured ( the Magic 5). If you can exert influence over these trouble makers then it would make Baguio a safer city. Good luck and stay safe!

“”But to “accept trouble” instead of avoiding it seem suspect “”
sir sometimes we can’t help it to fight back.. it’s kinda like self defence..
we don’t go aggreviating others for spremecy.. like..
some fraternities.. they just wouldn’t like peace n order.. and some of our members from other chapters won’t either i guess because there was s a point that there was peace back then.. some of the young memebers brag about their fraternities n starts fight u know.. then the peace was over.. it’s always like that..
we’ll try to influence other memeber to participate in other activities and avoid violence coz i too don’t like violence..
well thats all i could say right now.. just a point of view sir..
Mabiag ti CIASI!
mabiag!

Kakabsat,
Hats off to you for wanting to stop the violence. I do hope that you succeed. I understand that some of your kabagis are excited to be members of the organization and want to prove their loyalty. Ngem sagpaminsan ket saan da a maigawid ket isu metten pagrugian iti saan a nasayaat nga pasamak. Dakayo ngarud iti mangted kappia ken urnos, saan yu koma nga ipalubos nga dadaelen iti sumagmamano iti kaaduan. I join you in your crusade - MABIAG ITI ILOKANO! Mabiag iti CIASI!

Pinoy True Crips are the most notorious gang in baguio city PTC is a violent gang they killed bulado and rex. neri, jao, ives and marvin are in jail because of a serious crime. vasque, kwak-c, james tan, latino, torres, k-eye, kepu, cooper, chekwa and other PTC never feared to kill.

Gang,
Wow! That’s a lot of names. Well, I guess that’s justice. If they did something wrong and are proven to be guilty then it would be better if they are incarcerated. But then again these are sons, brothers and fathers whose life was drastically affected because they belong to violent gangs. Stay safe.

ragstah is the same as R.A.G (Reckless Asiatic Gang) they have different sets throughout philippines and even overseas….i know this because they’re under surveylance and they’ve killed a lot of people in the late 90’s including my cousin…..these guys are organized and they hide behind the image of the kids they recruit and they have connections thats why my cousins case never got its justice
March 15, 2008 at 3:17 am
bloods and crips!hahaha these kids copy things they see on mtv!! they even admire terrorists!haha kids nowadays! Fraternities are different because its suppose to deal with activites in the education but some are really stubborn and not different from the gangs
March 16, 2008 at 6:48 am
i see u got the EAST SIDE THUGS on your list up there i actually know a lot of members of that gang. they compose of snatchers holduppers drug dealers mandurukot and many other s**t but don’t judge people cause they are also victims of the street some of them sleep on the cold burnham park THEY EVEN KILL JUST so they could eat.. life is hard ..for them its to stay alive..WAKE UP people!! its not their fault to be there killin people just for a few pesos ..what would u do if your abused at an early age or your father or mother died when u were just a baby>? these other gangs don’t know shit!!!! for the east side thugs THEY HAVE ALL THE REASON!!!!PEACE!!! from the ROCK AND ROLL DUDE!!!
March 16, 2008 at 8:58 am
Rakizta,
From what I read, for you, it is OK to kill for a few pesos and do petty crimes because they were abused as children? That they are in this predicament because no one cared for them? I think that’s not entirely right and not reason enough. Believe it or not, they have a bright future out there but they have to take the first step and I know that it’s not going to be easy. Peace!
March 18, 2008 at 10:19 pm
Rakista,
East Side Thugs??LMAO! that just shows that their kids tryna act like what they see on mtv and stuff, i bet they dont even know what THUG means. Life is hard for them and so is their victims….but whats frightening is when this so called wanna be gangs can be used by these real gangs like Bahala Na Gang or Ragstah
March 18, 2008 at 10:31 pm
snapz,
sorry bout your cousin bro, i actually know a lot of guys from R.A.G back when i was attending college in manila and yes this guys are serious (bigtym) they have members through out the country and true even here in california, its just hard to comprehend their modus or their operation if not like the typical street robbers, the guys that i know from Ragsta are really decent well educated guys, but there’s always that doubt something fishy is going on with them. if ya know i mean. but life goes on, as long as you avoid these guys you’ll be fine

nalulungkot ako sa mga nakita ko dito na nakapost.. last time na umalis ako ng baguio mga 1999, wala gaano fraternities diyan, ang meron lang ay bloods and crips.. medyo payapa pa ang baguio noon, safe maglakad at ma eenjoy mo pumunta kahit saan..
i love my home town baguio city, since i was 5 years old dyan na ako lumaki at hanggang sa umalis kami because we have to do the business here in manila..
baguio is the best para sa akin.. and i want my children to enjoy my home town pagdating ng araw.
sana nga may death squad sa baguio to hunt those evil doers
ayaw ko dumating ang araw na pag uwi ko ng baguio na isa sa member ng family ko ay mabiktima ng mga frats or gangs, especially my kids in the coming future.. i dont want this to happen.
i pray na sana mas intensify ng PNP ang pagbabantay sa baguio lalo na tuwing gabi.. if i were the mayor, mag papadelpoy ako ng PNP special action force sa mga places kung saan mas madalas mangyari ang mga kaguluhan
April 25, 2008 at 2:14 am
Silencer,
Sa tingin ko mayroong Task Force na binuo ang mayor para lamang sa suliraning ito. Ang kailangang pagtuonan ng pansin ay ang parenting obligations ng mga magulang ng members ng gangs. Multi-prong approach - home, community at school. Kung sana makausap ng masinsinan ang mga pinuno ng mga gangs na ito (which I doubt they will listen) para lubayan ang kabataan mababawasan ang problema. O di kaya kung ayaw talaga - we unleash the hunters!

i my self is a frat member..and was also a gang member… im from tabuk the province of kalinga but i grew up in manila… and i have lived in baguio for sometime now.. nakita ko naman eh magulo talaga ang gang lalo na kasi nga mga bata pa maiinit pa ang dugo ignorante pa.. ung mga matatanda nman na members ngpapakabatang isip lang..if ur going to join a gang ang pinaka unang bagay para maatrack kang sumali eh sex, drugs, liquors, smoke, at lots of other vices.. some says kaya sila sumasali kasi biktima sila ng sirang pamilya, or binubogbog ng tatay, pinabayaan ng ina,may babae ang tatay at may anak sa labas si nanay.. mga gago gasgas na yan alam nyo biktima kau ng sarili nyo.. kung ano ano kasi iniicip nyo eh ganyan din ako dati.. ung iba nman wala lng gusto lng sumali para IN sya kung ano ang uso.. ganyan ako dati eh
sa mga frats.. ok nman sila member ang pinsan (si hisham)ko ng SAMAHANG ILOKANO (gov pack chapter ng UC/BCF), kuya ko TAU GAMMA PHI(TUP chapter), isang pinsan ko (si sunting)adviser ng SI,ung isa (si bruce)adviser ng SIGMA RHO sa UP Los Banos laguna, pinsan ko (si dandan)member ng UPSILON sa UP los banos laguna, ako membro ng Magic 5 (Delta Sigma Phi)… halos lhat kami frat members di naman kami magugulo.. misan nga naginuman kami sa baguio hinamon ba nman kami ng mga gangs tinawanan nlang namin..bata pa sila eh di nila alam pinagdaan nmin.. sa mga frats sa baguio MABUHAY kau promote peace not war.. iwasan ang retaliation against ignorants who want power and those who thinks that they have power,,show them how to do it right that a brotherhood is something that uplifts its follow members show them the right path and them in the time of need..
para kay digital chain,, magresearch ka ng maayos look at the other side of things hindi porke ngkunwari silang ka-awa-awa eh ngsympathize ka na sakanila… contact me if you want this if my number 09297731745….
