In South Carolina a group of nurses (who I think are Filipinos) who were picnicking nearby were able to save the life of Bill Hedden who was attacked by an alligator while snorkeling in Lake Moultrie.
The attack was so savage, the alligator was able to rip off the arm of the victim from the shoulder socket. Luckily, the nurses were there to sustain Mr. Heden until help arrived.
Truly, our nurses are all around! Mabuhay ang Pinoy!

A typical day now starts with a few minutes at the park. A nice way to prepare for the long day ahead.
Since last week, Thea and I have been spending quality time at the park near her school. It’s a nice park - wide grounds; a play ground; a basket ball court; rest rooms and picnic sheds and a grill.
We share the park with a few regulars. When we arrive we see this couple who always sits by the picnic table enjoying their take-out coffee. A few minutes later a mother and her two children would join us; taking their place near the kiddie play area. By this time a number of children would start coming in, dropping by the park to play for a few minutes before heading to school.
Thea, in the meantime, would run to the swings and I head to my favorite bench. I bring a mug of coffee to accompany my reading material while keeping an eye on Thea.
