Cinema Rip-off
I was at the theater this afternoon with family and friends. We enjoyed the show, I’m sure. But I think theaters are not only entertaining us but ripping us off as well. Here’s an example- we watch a 3D movie and pay the 3D fee (to include the glasses) after the show you see these boxes asking you to recycle. Congratulations, mother earth thanks you for that! But guess what happens? They repackage them and sell them back again for $3.50 to the next 3D movie goer! The cycle then repeats itself.
Take on mobile blogging
One might call it a haitus but personally, I don’t know what to call it. My blogging has waned and I am running out of ideas to write about. Writer’s block? Laziness? Brain dead? It can be a number of things. I remember one of the tips was to “just write”. Write about anything until the creative juices start flowing again. So, I ramble while I use my handy dandy iPhone to type out an idea or something.
Maybe the ideas will flow tomorrow. For now I tap away one finger tap at a time.
Revisiting.
Although Cesar Chavez was known to have championed farm workers in America and later became the founder of the United Farm Workers it is also fitting to remember that a number of Filipinos were instrumental in the creation of the most important labor movement in American history.
Here’s an interesting story told by one of the first Filipinos to join the 1965 strike. He was a Filipino farmer who helped organize and unify latino and filipino farm workers into a formidable union.
To name these labor union pioneers and leaders is also to honor their contributions and their legacy. I only named a few, those that I can find in public records, surely there are many more out there.
